CIF- Briefing Session with District School Directorate Karachi

The first briefing session on the Curriculum Implementation Framework was held at the SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School-Karachi on the 13th of August 2015. The session was organized by the Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh. Syed Zakir Ali Shah and Dr. Fouzia Khan represented the Education & Literacy Department at the session. Mr. Ejaz Shah of the EU helped spearhead the sessions in order to make institutional connections for reforming curriculum. The main attendees of the session included T.E.Os and H.M.s who are the core implementers of any policy that has to be driven on ground, hence their on-boarding has been viewed as a very significant step.

The agenda of the session revolved around:

  • Creating an understanding regarding the curriculum framework
  • Comprehending the respective roles in the curriculum implementation within the context of the Sindh School Education Standards and Curriculum Act 2015
  • Sharing curriculum framework with respective shareholders
  • Engaging in continuous reflection on the implementation process

The Curriculum Implementation Framework is an unprecedented step in introducing curriculum reforms in Sindh, hence the session was lauded by all participants as being a great initiative by the government to introduce reforms and taking an inclusive approach to involve all stakeholders.
